The Golden Green Group of prospects are primarily historical workings at Golden Green, Twin Shafts, Golden Green South and Rabbit Hill (Prospect Location on Concept Map), which are approximately 2-3 kms west of Sorpresa. These targets represent shallow oxide high grade gold satellite occurrences to any future mining proposition of Sorpresa. The targets represent structurally controlled sediment and greenstone hosted gold targets that appear to be somewhat spatially related to the contact zone of the Murga Alaskan Ural Ultramafic “Fifield Complex”.
The largest working is at Golden Green which was historically mined by local prospectors George and Noel Green (History). Up to 31 historical workings mapped across a 200m north-north west strike. The main workings are approximately 40m deep and are undrilled.
Rock chip sampling and mapping at Golden Green has returned high grade rock chip results including 8.21g/t Au and 4.1g/t Au. Samples contain various styles of quartz veining, polymictic breccia’s with quartz vein clasts, sheared and silica-sericite altered siltstone-sandstone wall rocks with box-work textures after sulphides. Auger drilling has been completed across a 500m x 400m area and gold results have revealed a significant coherent gold anomaly at >20ppb Au which remains open in multiple directions. Portable XRF analysis highlight a semi-coincident Arsenic and Copper pathfinder association. Further extension and infill auger drilling of the gold anomaly will enable siting of RC drill testing.
At Golden Green South, RC drilling has returned very promising initial results including 11m @ 1.17g/t Au from 72m, Incl; 3m @ 3.79g/t Au from 75m (Fi 0452), and 2m @ 12.42g/t Au from 42m, Incl; 1m @ 23.60g/t Au from 42m, (Fi 0401).
A possible strike extension from Golden Green South to Golden Green is currently under investigation.
An RC Drilling investigation at the Twin Shafts historical workings also retuned highly encouraging results in hole Fi 0405 of 2m @ 9.66g/t Au from 58m, Incl; 1m @ 15.95g/t Au from 58m. Further drilling is being planned.
Collectively the Golden Green Group are considered prospective for shallow high grade oxide satellite deposit(s) located within 3km of any potential mining operation at Sorpresa.
